Arabesque

Arabesque
A moment of darkness
Another of light
Through the shadows emerges
A vision in white

A tragic tale unfolds
As one beholds her,
Dancing to the strains
Of a melody of pain

Her exquisite pirouettes
And mesmeric twirls
Hold you spellbound
In their magical swirls

Every graceful gesture
Every anguished plea
Moves you to tears
As you share her agony

To many she is
But a ballerina
Dancing her way through
A rose-strewn avenue

Blissfully unaware,
That the maiden fair
Enacts the glory
Of her own love story

They see not the pain
Buried deep in her eyes
They feel not the pathos
Reflected in her sighs

Her life,
An endless pattern
Of memories that turn
Her days to gold
As she relives those divine
Moments of old

A solitary figure
She lives for her ballet
Today and everyday
It's arabesque all the way.
